Combined training for probationary officers underway at ATI

DIMAPUR — A combined inaugural function on foundation course training for NCS (P) batch of 2023-24, NPS (P) and BDO (P) batch of 2023 and the 53rd batch for NSS (P) was held at the Administrative Training Institute (ATI) in Kohima on Tuesday.

The special guest and secretary of P&AR, Akunu S Meyase, congratulated the probationers and emphasised that the training would serve as initial step in their journey as government servants. She expressed optimism that they would evolve into valuable assets for both the government and the public, stated a DIPR report.

Meyase commended the progressive mindset displayed by the probationers regarding their visions for Nagaland.

Speaking on the challenges that might arise, she encouraged the probationers not to be disheartened but to approach situations with innovation and a problem-solving mindset. Emphasising that a simple change could have significant impact on governance, she urged them to view service provided to the people as a noble goal.

Meyase further highlighted the importance of rising to challenges and giving their best efforts.

The course coordinator, Kaholi Sema, who is also the joint director of ATI, made a presentation on the overview of NSS foundation course, spanning 2 to 3 months.

Report stated that the training course would include understanding departmental rules, regulations and district-level workings before placements in different departments and concluding with a final exam.

A Alem W Longchar, assistant director of ATI, gave a detail explanation on NCS course, which are divided into three phases over a year. The phases included cultural and heritage studies, district training with practical learning in various government offices and attachments to key directorates in Nagaland.

Longchar further outlined study tours including cultural exposure and final exam.

The inaugural programme concluded with sharing by the probationers.
